اشار الرفيق يعقوب كوركيس السكرتير العام للحركة الديمقراطية الآشورية، الاربعاء 24 أيلول الجاري، إلى اهمية وضع تحديات شعبنا الوجودية على ارضه التاريخية وما يتعرض له من ممارسات تهدد كيانه على طاولة صانع القرار الأمريكي.
جاء ذلك في لقاء جمع الرفيق كوركيس مع عضو الكونغرس الأمريكي دارين لحود، بمشاركة اتحاد الأندية الآشورية الأمريكية (AANF)، والمحامي روبرت قليتا رئيس غرفة التجارة الاشورية والناشطين القوميين د. جان، و.. د. ران مايكل والمدير التنفيذي لمنظمة تصويت الآشوريين Vote Assyrian.
واضاف الرفيق السكرتير العام إن “من الأهمية إيصال قضايا شعبنا والتحديات التي يواجهها في موطنه التاريخي إلى صانعي القرار في الولايات المتحدة، بما يضمن الاعتراف بها ومعالجتها وتمثيلها على أعلى المستويات الحكومية”.
فيما بين اتحاد الأندية الآشورية الأمريكية (AANF) التزامه الراسخ بمواصلة جهوده في الدفاع عن قضايا شعبنا، وضمان إدراجها ضمن أولويات المجتمع الدولي، مع السعي إلى تأمين الدعم اللازم لإيجاد حلول عادلة ومستدامة.

On Wednesday, September 24, Yacoob Korkis, Secretary General of the Assyrian Democratic Movement, emphasized the importance of presenting the existential challenges facing the Assyrian people in their historical homeland—and the practices threatening their survival—to U.S. policymakers.
This came during a meeting between Korkis and U.S. Congressman Darin LaHood, with the participation of the Assyrian American National Federation (AANF), attorney Robert Kaleta, President of the Assyrian Chamber of Commerce, national activists Dr. John and Dr. Ran Michael, and Vote Assyrian Executive Director Ashur Shiba.
Korkis added: “It is of vital importance to convey the issues of our people and the challenges they face in their ancestral land to decision-makers in the United States, ensuring their recognition, resolution, and representation at the highest levels of government.”
For its part, the Assyrian American National Federation (AANF) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to continuing its efforts in defending the Assyrian cause, ensuring its inclusion among the priorities of the international community, and securing the necessary support to achieve just and sustainable solutions.
