قامت دورية تتبع أحد الأجهزة الأمنية التابعة لسلطة الأمر الواقع المتمثلة بالإدارة الذاتية حوالي الساعة الواحدة بعد منتصف ليل الأربعاء 18 آب الجاري باعتقال المهندس عبدالأحد آدم مدير دائرة الزراعة في مدينة المالكية / ديريك واقتادته إلى جهة مجهولة ولم يعرف لتاريخه أي معلومات حول أسباب وظروف اعتقاله.
ووفق معلومات متقاطعة من الأهالي، فقد قامت الدورية المؤلفة من ثلاث سيارات تقل حوالي 15 عنصرا من العناصر المسلحين والملثمين بكسر باب المبنى الذي يقطن أحد شققه المهندس عبدالأحد آدم مع أفراد أسرته واعتقلته بلباس النوم، وسط حالة ذهول وذعر أصابت أبنائه والجيران، وبأسلوب بوليسي مفرط في المبالغة من حيث حجم القوات وطريقة الاقتحام، وكأنها عملية عسكرية لاعتقال خلية ارهابية مدججة بالسلاح وليس مواطنا مدنيا مسالما.
إن تكرار هذا الأسلوب في اعتقال المدنيين،لا يمثل فقط انتهاكا فاضحا للقواعد القانونية، ولأبسط حق من حقوق الإنسان، ولا يجسّد فقط التناقض الواضح مع الشعارات التي ترفعها هذه السلطة حول الحرية و الديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان، بل بات يؤكد على منهجية وتقصّد واضح على الاستمراربقمع الحريات وترهيب المدنيين، في سلوك ابعد ما يكون عن سلوك أي إدارة تدعّي المدنية وترى في منظومتها هذه النموذج الذي يصلح لبناء سوريا المستقبل.
إننا في المنظمة الآثورية الديمقراطية، في الوقت الذي ندين فيه اعتقال المهندس عبدالأحد آدم، فإننا نحمّل هذه السلطة المسؤولية عن أي إيذاء جسدي أو نفسي قد يتعرض له، ونطالب بالإفراج الفوري عنه. كما ندعوها للكف عن هذه الممارسات اتجاه الجميع، والتي لن تزيد الوضع سوى المزيد من التعقيد وتعميق الشرخ في المجتمع، وتهديد أمن وسلامة المواطنين، وتطفئ أي بارقة أمل في إصلاح وتطوير هذه التجربة بما يخدم بناء السلام والاستقرار والازدهار.

The Assyrian Democratic Organization Denounces the Detention of Engineer,
Abd al-Ahad Adam

A patrol detachment affiliated with the security services of the de-facto authority of the Autonomous Administration, at around one o’clock in the morning, Wednesday, August 18, detained engineer Abdul-Ahad Adam, director of the Agriculture Department in the city of Al-Malikiyah / Dereek, and took him to an unknown location. No information about the reasons and circumstances of his detention is known or available.
According to information from the residents, a three-car patrol carrying about 15 armed and masked security members broke down the door of the main building in which Engineer Abdul-Ahad Adam lives with his family, and arrested him and took him away in his pajamas, in a horrible and frenzy scene that terrorized his children and neighbors; using an excessive police force with the intent to terrorize as if it was a military operation to detain a heavily armed terrorist cell and not a peaceful civilian man.
The repetition of these detention methods of civilians does not only represent a flagrant violation of cod of law and the most basic of human rights, and it does not only reflect the clear contradiction with the slogans raised by this Authority about freedom, democracy, and human rights, but it has come to confirm the methodology and clear intent to continue suppressing freedoms, and intimidation of civilians, in a behavior that is far from the behavior of any administration that claims to be civil and fair and sees in its system as a model that is suitable for building New Syria.
We in the Assyrian Democratic Organization, while condemning the detaining of Engineer Abdul-Ahad Adam, hold this Authority responsible for any physical or psychological harm he may be subjected to, and we demand his immediate release. We also call on them to refrain from these practices towards any innocent citizens, which will only make the situation more complicated and deepen the rift in society, threaten the security and safety of citizens, and extinguish any flicker of hope in reforming and developing this experience (in North-East Syria) in a manner that serves to build peace, stability, and prosperity.
